Overview In this role you support bids and design/build proposals for electrical and low-voltage systems, helping ensure accurate cost estimates and compliant solutions. You work closely with the estimating team to translate plans into pricing, perform take-offs, and gather subcontractor inputs. The position requires hands-on review of drawings, specs, and contract documents, with a focus on delivering high-quality estimates for secure, complex projects. You will operate within a collaborative environment guided by the company's values of agility, expertise, and trust.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals
- Perform take-offs from drawings and price change orders
- Conduct site visits to understand project constructability
- Identify materials/equipment from plans and specs for cost purposes
- Maintain current, accurate price information from suppliers and contractors
- Prepare bid packages and obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors
- Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications
- Interpret blueprints and contract documents to inform costing and procurement
- Apply cost fundamentals to ensure compliant, competitive estimates
- Develop goals and plans to prioritize and organize work; deliver high-quality outputs
- Collaborate effectively with others to achieve common goals
- Pass background check requirements
- Knowledge of Accubid and BIM is a plus
Key requirements- 2+ years experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering)
- 6+ years experience with an Associate's Degree
- 8+ years experience with a high school diploma or GED
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Experience with contract documents and design drawings
- Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications
- Ability to perform data gathering, pricing, and bid package preparation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Must pass background check
- Working knowledge of Accubid a plus
