Overview In this role you lead small to medium engineering projects or larger, routine bridge initiatives within HDR's Transportation group. You'll build client relationships, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and guide design and production to meet schedule and budget. You contribute to transformative transportation infrastructure that supports safe, sustainable mobility. This position blends technical leadership with stakeholder engagement in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage small-to-medium single-discipline projects or large routine projects
- Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and staff
- Coordinate work of engineers across the project lifecycle
- Lead client, marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Track project finances and adjust resources to meet schedules
- Collaborate with peers to maintain cohesive practice
- Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for transportation projects
- Contribute to designs for bridges, box culverts, and interchanges on highway/railway projects
- Select standard engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using specialized software
- Review and mentor junior engineers and EITs in calculations and specs
- Perform other duties as needed
- Mentor staff and support ongoing development
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7 years related experience
- Minimum 2 years project management experience
- Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng)
- MS Office and MS Project experience
