Overview

In this role you drive defense contracting programs from negotiations to closeout, ensuring compliance and effective external communication. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and optimize contract terms in a complex defense environment. You'll operate as a SME on FAR/DFARS, NDAs, and reps & certs, shaping contractual outcomes for DoW and international customers. This is a chance to influence large-scale government programs within a respected manufacturing leader.

Responsibilities
  • Manage defense contracts from negotiation through closeout
  • Enforce company requirements and regulatory compliance across defense functions
  • Serve as official defense communications channel with external stakeholders
  • Assist proposal activities with risk mitigation and advisory input
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in FAR/DFARS, NDAs, and Reps & Certs
  • Review, negotiate, and manage terms for CSO, CPA, FFP, IDIQ, OTA, T&M etc.
  • Work with prime contractors, DoW, and international customers in sole source and competitive environments
  • Handle international contractual requirements (bank guarantees, CISG, Incoterms, localization, offsets)
  • Experience with CLM systems, contract lifecycle management
  • Develop, track, and report contractual metrics for internal stakeholders
  • Assist Finance with invoicing/receivables and audit requests
  • Provide business recommendations on contractual items
  • Support Contracts Managers and escalate issues as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Pre-Law, or Equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years' experience
  • DoW and International defense contracting experience
  • Cross-functional/matrix organization experience
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 software
  • Experience with defense contracting and regulatory topics (DoW, FAR/DFARS, CMMC, ITAR/EAR)
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Critical thinking and issue resolution
  • FAR/DFARS, NDAs, Reps & Certs
  • Contract types: CSO, Cost Plus, FFP, IDIQ, OTA, T&M
  • DoW U.S. Government topics (CID, CPARS, CUI, CAS, CMMC, SAM, TINA)
