Responsibilities- Underwrite and manage new energy casualty business and renewals for profitability
- Assess and select risks within authority and guidelines
- Maintain and grow relationships with key producers; monitor profitability of the producer base
- Review market forms and pricing to position Markel competitively
- Support audits and underwriting meetings; provide training to staff
- Collaborate with UW Manager and product line leaders on accounts and operational improvements
- Assist with premium audit disputes and respond to broker/agent inquiries
- Mentor less experienced underwriters and share expertise
Key requirements- 3+ years of Energy Casualty underwriting experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication
- Team player with flexible, proactive approach
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
- Travel up to 25%
- Bachelor degree and/or CPCU or similar designation preferred
