Overview

In this Technologist Trainee role, you will join Labcorp's Mass Spec team in Burlington, NC to develop hands-on expertise in advanced analytical testing. You will learn to assess specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, and operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure accurate results. You'll contribute to quality by conducting preventative maintenance, QC, and reagent evaluation, while supporting safe, efficient lab operations. This is a training-focused position with exposure to cross-functional teams and real-world impact on patient care and diagnostic science. You'll work in a pace that blends learning with hands-on responsibility, contributing to Labcorp's使命

Responsibilities
  • Determine specimen acceptability for testing according to criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation
  • Make technical decisions on testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
  • Assist with processing of specimens
  • Maintain a safe workplace and wear PPE
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred)
  • ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
  • Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High attention to detail; strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle physical requirements and pass color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts
