Overview

In der role, you will lead cost segregation engagements, guide a team, and deliver high-quality client service within a collaborative, growth-minded firm. You will work with tax, engineering, and real estate professionals to maximize client tax savings through engineering-based analyses. Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple cost segregation engagements from planning to delivery
  • Mentor and review work of associates to ensure accuracy
  • Oversee property site inspections and document building components for IRS classifications
  • Review construction cost docs, ledgers, and contractor payments
  • Analyze blueprints and project specs to support asset classifications
  • Prepare and review engineering-based cost segregation reports and schedules
  • Collaborate with tax, valuation, and real estate teams for integrated solutions
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and client expectations
  • Assist with practice development, proposals, and identifying additional services
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cost segregation, construction estimating, engineering, real estate valuation, or related field
  • Pursuit of CPA, EA, CCSP, or other relevant certification is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of IRS cost segregation guidance and tax depreciation methodologies
  • Advanced understanding of construction methods and asset classification principles
  • Experience supervising engagement teams and managing multiple projects
  • Knowledge of real estate appraisals, valuations, and cost allocation methodologies
  • Proficiency with RS Means, Marshall & Swift, Planswift, or similar estimating software
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the year
