Overview

In this Contracts Manager role, you will manage program and project contracts for Mercury's Secure Line of Business, ensuring compliance with customer specs, FAR/DFARS, and company policy. You will advise on rights, obligations, IP protections, risk, and negotiation strategy, collaborating with cross functional teams under pressure. Expect exposure to government contracting, complex negotiations, and data stewardship, with opportunities to influence risk mitigation and contract outcomes. This role is key to delivering compliant, high stakes engagements that enable mission critical solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage program and project contracts for the Line of Business
  • Review solicitations and draft/approve contractual documents for compliance with customer requirements and terms
  • Draft/review/negotiates complex agreements including master agreements
  • Develop negotiation strategies aligned with corporate goals
  • Advise on contractual rights/obligations, IP protections, conflicts of interest and risk mitigation
  • Maintain deadlines and contract data; input data into databases
  • Analyze contract compliance with other functions; interface with government and customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Program Management, Capture, Finance, Pricing, Proposal, Property, Quality, Engineering) to support contracts
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of direct Contract Administration/Business Management/Finance experience with government defense or prime customers
  • Experience with USG, Prime, and Commercial contracts
  • Familiarity with defense contract types (CR, CPFF, CPIF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ) and contracting lifecycle
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, especially FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15
  • Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience with SAM, D&B, Certs & Reps, Exostar
  • Knowledge of government contracting regulations
  • Contract negotiation and risk analysis
