Assistant Construction Manager - Gas & Heavy Industrial Power (Multiple Locations)

Overview

In this role you support EPC project execution across multiple industries, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets. You collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to keep projects on track and compliant with plans. You help manage risk, documentation, procurement, and turnover, contributing to successful project outcomes. This position offers hands-on field exposure and cross-functional teamwork within a dynamic EPC environment. You will drive practical solutions that sustain safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Support safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and procurement for EPC projects
  • Contribute to Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, and Procurement Plan development
  • Assist in bid support, RFPs, scope development, subcontracting, and contract documents
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change management, and claims mitigation
  • Support cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, setup, progress tracking, and project reporting to stakeholders
  • Coordinate permits, permits requirements, and onboarding of craft supervision
  • Oversee document control, filing systems, and project closeout processes
  • Assist with labor agreements, staffing, and craft training; monitor labor economics
  • Verify insurance, licensure, taxes, and compliance; perform internal/external audits
  • Support turnover documentation, warranty, and project closeout; ensure client and subcontractor alignment
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of relevant construction experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience across industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred
