Overview In this role you will lead a regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team to advance oncology programs and scientific engagement with high-value healthcare professionals. You will balance direct field coverage with oversight of MSL plans, investigator-initiated studies, and congress support, ensuring alignment with Medical Affairs strategy. You will foster leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and impactful scientific exchange to support patient outcomes. A key hook is driving regional MSL excellence within a global oncology portfolio.

Responsibilities- Provide direction, guidance and development for a regional MSL team
- Occasional direct territory coverage when no MSL is available
- Assess and improve MSL performance at individual and group levels
- Ensure execution of strategic, operational and tactical MSL plans
- Keep Executive Director informed with timely updates
- Represent Medical Affairs management in the field
- Partners across the company as a scientific resource
- Lead high-visibility Medical Affairs projects with guidance from the Executive Director
- Foster teamwork and continuity across the MSL organization
- Engage national and regional thought leaders and Healthcare Professionals
- Exchange scientific information with external parties in a balanced, accurate manner
- Report field intelligence including competitive landscape and treatment trends
- Represent Exelixis management at medical conferences and summarize sessions
- Maintain knowledge of relevant studies, compounds and diseases for scientific discussions
- Demonstrate high standard of excellence and support reports in a compliant manner
Key requirements- 13+ years related experience (Master's pa/NP track) or 12+ years with a Doctorate; advanced oncology credentials
- Oncology MSL management experience
- 8+ years as an MSL in oncology and prior people-management experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead with guidance
- Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to engage groups of varying sizes
- Willingness to travel 50% or more (including weekends)
