Overview

In this role you will drive accurate cost estimation and budget control for manufacturing facility projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate contract documents into solid estimates and schedules. You will identify risks, explore opportunities, and support client proposals to enable successful project awards and delivery. Responsibilities
  • Analyze contract documents and specifications for large hard-bid/lump-sum, CM, and design-build projects to determine requirements
  • Set up a critical path schedule with milestones to meet contract completion dates for large projects
  • Perform full quantity take-offs of labor, equipment, and materials for large scopes
  • Lead pricing of general expenses and project-specific requirements for medium to large projects
  • Create as-bid estimates and trade buy-out strategies with operations
  • Assist in presenting estimates and delivering client presentations
  • Document and archive estimate information for transfer to the project team
  • Conduct risk and opportunity analysis for the risk register
  • Liaise with external consultants and manage tender development for clients
  • Assist with owners' project approvals and develop cost estimates for capital-expense plans
  • Monitor project-specific success criteria and drive creative solutions with the team
  • Travel up to 40% if required
Key requirements
  • 12 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating with onsite experience preferred
  • Led pursuits valued up to $250 million across various delivery models
  • Experience with self-perform estimates and productivity understanding
  • Knowledge of multiple construction methods, scheduling, and timelines
  • Expertise in bid preparation, quantity take-off, procurement, pricing and bid closing
  • Ability to understand and teach contract terms for different delivery models
