Overview

In this role you set the science direction for agentic AI applications that guide advertiser campaigns. You lead the end-to-end science, architecture, and integration of autonomous campaign management Systems, collaborating with product and engineering to translate long-term science into roadmaps. You will tackle ambiguous, medium-to-large problems, deliver customer-facing AI products, and mentor teams while staying hands-on with core technical work. The opportunity centers on shaping scalable, responsible AI that improves advertiser ROI and marketplace health.

Responsibilities
  • Define the science vision for the agentic campaign management system and translate it into delivery roadmaps
  • Build agentic systems that autonomously manage and optimize ad campaigns while balancing advertiser ROI, shopper experience, and marketplace health
  • Define and curate datasets and signals for training and evaluating agents (advertiser data, auction signals, impressions, clicks, conversions, keyword performance)
  • Stay hands-on writing production-quality, critical-path code and building core components from prototype to launch
  • Own the agentic architecture (planning, tool use, long-horizon reasoning, multi-agent orchestration) and contribute code from prototype to launch
  • Define evaluation and safety methodology for agent workflows and promote reliability and trust
  • Drive the team's scientific agenda, mentor scientists and engineers, and represent the team in internal and external scientific communities
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of ML model development for business applications
  • PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Programming in Java, C++, Python or related languages
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods
