Overview

In this role you will oversee and optimize project schedules for Austin Commercial's construction projects. You will align schedule deliverables with owners, architects, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to critical paths. You will drive the transition from preconstruction to construction, integrating procurement tasks and ensuring accurate, high-quality schedule documentation. You will operate in a collaborative, ownership-driven culture and help maintain our high standards for safety, service, and integrity. This is a strategic, hands-on role for a senior scheduler who shapes project workflows and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation of schedule-related deliverables and present from a knowledgeable standpoint
  • Represent Austin in meetings with owners and architects to discuss durations, sequencing, and workflow
  • Ensure compliance with company policies for schedule development, maintenance, and reporting
  • Review in-progress projects for schedule adherence to critical path and potential impacts
  • Oversee creation of impact schedules and supporting docs; present to senior staff and clients
  • Review and correct work by other schedulers on deliverables and proposal schedules
  • Oversee development and incorporation of procurement tasks into overall project schedules
  • Take overall responsibility for schedule deliverables and ensure accuracy and relevance
  • Lead the transition from preconstruction to construction by transferring schedule logic and sequencing
  • Ensure detailed procurement tasks are integrated into schedules
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive scheduling experience; significant field experience preferred
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Science, Architecture, or related discipline preferred
  • Strong knowledge of building designs, systems, and construction materials
  • Extensive knowledge of alternative materials and means/methods for schedule improvements
  • Advanced knowledge of construction materials, means, and methods
  • Expert in relevant scheduling software and techniques
  • Strong logical and critical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Familiar with team-based delivery and able to lead a group to a common result
  • May require travel
