Overview In this Scientist role, you genotypically characterize complex genetically modified models using cutting-edge platforms to support R&D and technology development for drug discovery. Responsibilities- Process biopsy samples for downstream extraction and genotyping analysis
- Perform high-throughput DNA isolation from embryonic stem cells and rodent biopsies using automation
- Select and implement genotyping methodologies and establish workflow priorities
- Operate Hamilton Liquid Handler applications for qPCR assay retrieval and bulk master mix preparation
- Coordinate aliquoting of qPCR master mixes across processes
- Set up complex qPCR reactions on Beckman i7 Liquid Handlers
- Initiate qPCR using a customized cycling platform
- Collect, organize, and analyze raw data with custom data analysis tools
- Report genotyping results through LIMS and discuss with collaborators as needed
- Perform conventional PCR or Southern Blotting as alternatives to qPCR
- Maintain comprehensive sample management systems and assay inventory
Key requirements- Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, or related biological sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience
