Overview In this MSL role, you advance Amgen's obesity program by serving as a scientific resource to opinion leaders and healthcare professionals, communicating clinical value, and supporting research and strategic initiatives. You will work cross-functionally to expand access and improve patient outcomes while upholding compliance and delivering balanced scientific data. The position offers field-based engagement across Columbia and Charleston, with growth through congress activities, speaker training, and collaborative projects. This role combines scientific rigor with strategic stakeholder engagement to further Amgen's mission.

Responsibilities- Engage with Opinion Leaders, PHDMs, and community providers to discuss scientific platforms aligned with company goals
- Collaborate with investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline
- Communicate clinical value and economic data to PHDMs within IDNs and institutions
- Bridge external and internal stakeholders to extend reach and access for patients
- Conduct in-depth scientific exchanges with balanced information and compliance
- Support Amgen-sponsored research and possibly lead studies
- Liaise with investigators for non-sponsored clinical research
- Present field observations to inform Amgen strategies
- Lead or participate in congress activities and speaker training
- Coordinate with other Amgen field roles to ensure a unified customer experience
- Complete administrative tasks (Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance) timely
- Maintain current clinical/scientific knowledge and healthcare trends
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and communicate data effectively
- Provide insights to internal teams to shape strategies
- Contribute to project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics
- Support or lead on MSL training and field education
Key requirements- Doctorate or Master's degree with 3 years Medical Affairs experience or Bachelor's degree with 5 years Medical Affairs experience
- Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.
- 1+ years Medical Affairs experience (preferred)
- 4+ years in a medically related field including clinical or research exposure
- Experience in cardiometabolic and/or obesity domain
- Experience with designated territory (Columbia/Charleston, SC)
