Overview As HS&E Supervisor I at Orion, you support safe work practices and regulatory compliance across marine and heavy civil construction projects. You will work with project teams, field personnel, and leadership to strengthen safety culture and incident prevention. The role offers hands-on field exposure, training, and data-driven safety improvements in a growth-focused environment. Responsibilities- Support day-to-day HS&E activities for designated projects and operations
- Assist in implementing safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Participate in field safety inspections, observations, and audits; help address hazards
- Assist with accident and incident prevention and participate in investigations as assigned
- Help with employee safety orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs
- Maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly safety reports and related documentation
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Support project-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, and other safety documents
- Assist with OSHA regulatory compliance activities
- Coordinate safety training registrations, scheduling, certifications, and recordkeeping
- Maintain safety records and support documentation of injuries, property damage, and environmental events
- Enter data into Orion's Safety Management System (e.g., Intelex) and provide admin support
- Collaborate with HS&E leadership, Project Managers, and field staff to promote safety culture
- Assist with emergency response planning and related activities
- Perform other safety, administrative, and technical duties as assigned
Key requirements- 1-3 years of safety-related experience in construction, industrial, or similar environments
- Foundational knowledge of OSHA and construction safety principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Willingness to work in active field environments and travel as needed
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn safety management systems like Intelex
- Interest in ongoing HS&E professional development
- BCSP credential (ASP/CHST/OHST/STS-C/CSP) preferred but not required
- Candidates without credentials may pursue certification with experience
