Blue Kite Wellness provides accessible, compassionate, individualized, and holistic mental health services to children, teens, adults, and families. We are seeking an independently licensed Outpatient Clinician to provide assessment, psychotherapy, treatment planning, and care coordination services within the clinician's professional scope.

The Outpatient Clinician maintains an active caseload and provides individualized, client-centered care through in-office and telehealth appointments. Services are strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and focused on helping clients establish meaningful goals, address barriers, and achieve lasting progress.

Depending on qualifications and organizational needs, the clinician may also provide clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring, or documentation review to eligible team members when authorized to do so.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain an assigned outpatient caseload and provide behavioral health services within your education, licensure, training, and professional scope.
  • Complete clinical assessments, diagnostic formulations, treatment plans, psychotherapy, and other services permitted under your independent license.
  • Engage clients and families using client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish measurable treatment goals and monitor progress, barriers, risks, and ongoing service needs.
  • Complete timely and accurate assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records.
  • Coordinate care with clients, families, referral sources, schools, healthcare providers, community resources, and other members of the treatment team as appropriate.
  • Recognize and respond to changes in client presentation, risk, or safety and follow established crisis, escalation, and safety procedures.
  • Participate in case consultation, team meetings, chart reviews, utilization review, quality-improvement activities, and required training.
  • Provide clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring, or documentation review to assigned employees when qualified and authorized to do so.
  • Support assigned supervisees with case conceptualization, treatment planning, professional boundaries, documentation, risk concerns, and clinical skill development.
  • Maintain required credentials, continuing education, certifications, competencies, and annual training.
  • Meet established scheduling, productivity, attendance, documentation, and performance expectations.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or another qualifying behavioral health discipline.
  • Current Illinois independent clinical license in good standing, such as an LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, or another qualifying independent clinical credential.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic formulation, treatment-planning, psychotherapy, crisis-response, and clinical judgment skills.
  • Ability to develop measurable treatment goals and evaluate client progress, barriers, risks, and ongoing service needs.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and care-coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients, families, colleagues, referral sources, and interdisciplinary providers.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, professional ethics, Medicaid and private-payer requirements, medical necessity, and clinical documentation standards.
  • Ability to respond professionally to emotionally sensitive situations and maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Ability to provide daytime and evening appointments based on client, scheduling, and program needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous outpatient behavioral health experience.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, or families.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring, or documentation review.
  • Experience with Medicaid, private insurance, utilization review, chart review, or quality-improvement activities.
