Overview As an Architect with Stantec's Healthcare team, you guide design from concept through construction, collaborating with Project Managers and Design Leaders. You'll lead design discussions, coordinate with consultants and owners, and shape healthcare environments across acute and sub-acute projects. You apply sustainable design principles and BIM-driven workflows to deliver high-quality documentation and designs. This role offers cross-disciplinary collaboration within a global, mission-driven firm focused on meaningful, people-centered design.

Responsibilities- Lead projects of varying complexity within healthcare/institutional contexts
- Inspire creativity and design excellence for internal and external stakeholders
- Conceptualize building design aligned with client requirements, budget, and program
- Develop design through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visual formats
- Utilize BIM to create 3D models of buildings and components
- Participate in design critiques and constructability reviews
- Present design concepts to stakeholders with Project Manager and Design Architect
- Develop designs within cost parameters and space planning
- Coordinate building systems to align with design intent
- Incorporate sustainable design principles into the design
- Analyze site conditions (geotechnical, hydrological, environmental, etc.)
- Support program development and pre-design efforts
- Ensure design intent is maintained through documentation and construction
- Lead team members in project settings, critiques, and pin-ups
- Mentor and review work to meet budgets and schedules
- Interpret codes, drawings, programs, and accessibility/life-safety requirements
- Deliver design and documentation within a collaborative BIM strategy
- Understand building construction systems and industry standards
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Licensed Architect in California
- Minimum 10 years of experience on healthcare or institutional projects
- LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred
- Healthcare (OSHPD/HCAI) experience desired
