Overview As AI Product Counsel, you will advise the AI product and IP legal team on development and launches of Notion's AI features. You'll accelerate partnerships, translate regulatory guidance into practical product requirements, and support customer-facing queries about Notion AI. You'll build scalable processes for vendor deals, model reviews, and risk management while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role centers on shaping responsible, trustworthy AI deployments at scale and serving as a go-to advisor for AI launches.

Responsibilities- Accelerate AI product partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders, including model reviews and procurement agreements
- Provide pragmatic, product-focused legal counsel to help shipping AI features rapidly and responsibly
- Translate emerging AI regulations into practical product guidance and risk-based recommendations
- Support customer-facing AI questions with clear, accurate responses on capabilities, safeguards, and commitments
- Contribute to product legal support across the business as bandwidth permits
- Develop a practical AI contracting and model-review playbook for vendor deals and launches
- Draft and utilize reusable risk clauses and redlines across AI vendor and product work
- Build strong context on Notion AI's product surface, roadmap, and risk posture by Day 90
Key requirements- 5+ years of product counseling experience with a tech company or law firm (in-house preferred)
- Experience reviewing and negotiating vendor agreements with risk assessment
- AI and data licensing experience with collaboration with Privacy and Security
- Sound judgment in ambiguity and ability to drive decisions quickly
- Curiosity about AI and willingness to adopt AI tools; developing personal AI fluency is required
- Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to California or eligibility for in-house counsel in California
