Responsibilities- Determine specimen acceptability using established criteria
- Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs
- Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function
- Make technical testing decisions and problem-solve
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate test results for quality patient care
- Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
- Assist with specimen processing as needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and PPE compliance
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle physical requirements and pass a color vision test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts
