Overview As Senior Project Engineer-Structures, you will independently handle small to mid-size projects and lead the structural team on larger programs. You'll specify engineered systems, coordinate with architects, interiors, and other disciplines, and supervise junior engineers. You'll ensure design quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery while supporting construction administration and client communications. Responsibilities- Independently perform calculations and drawings for small/medium projects
- Develop job-specific discipline specifications for less complex projects
- Lead junior engineers on complex projects
- Coordinate with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines
- Independently execute Construction Administration duties (RFI responses, submittals, change orders)
- Perform calculations using standard and proprietary software
- Communicate design issues with solutions to design team and Owner clients
- Apply industry standard design processes and understand construction means/methods
- Manage projects within scope, budget, and design approach to deliver on time and with high client service
- Assist in developing design standards
Key requirements- Knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and building codes
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means/methods, materials, and industry standards
- Strong verbal and written communication to diverse stakeholders
- Ability to review others' work for accuracy and manage time to meet budgets/schedules
- Strong organizational skills; effective in independent and team settings
- Ability to collaborate in project teams and think creatively and critically
- Accountable and able to work with remote team members
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Professional Engineering license required; Structural Engineering license preferred
