Overview In this role, you drive DC Water's visual storytelling across presentations, publications, and digital media. You will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to design graphics, manage photo and signage projects, and craft visuals for executive-facing materials. Your work supports public-facing communications and internal publications, amplifying the organization's mission of safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible water services. You will act as a design lead for newsletters and annual reports, delivering high-quality visuals on deadline.
Responsibilities- Assist with vendor selections for signage and campaigns
- Manage vendor photo and signage installation
- Design and layout for DC Water publications, newsletters, brochures, presentations, and reports
- Create layouts for What on Tap newsletter, Clean Rivers Project newsletter, annual report, and other graphic requests with Senior Manager clearance
- Design visual presentations for the CEO and COO
- Inform the public about DC Water programs, policies, and services
- Provide photography for events as required
- Write and edit for printed materials as needed
- Represent the Senior Manager at meetings as required
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Senior Manager, Marketing and Promotions
Key requirements- Five (5) years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, and project management; or a high school diploma or equivalency and nine (9) years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, and project management
- Bachelor's degree in Advertising / Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated skills in oral, visual, and written presentations
- Demonstrated skills in desktop publishing and computer software programs that support public relations/communications programs
- Proficiency with layout and desktop publishing, digital graphic files, photography, publication design, print environment, and Windows applications including PowerPoint, PageMaker, InDesign and Photoshop
