Position Title: Licensed Therapist

Location: Lynchburg, VA

This is an opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships and help children and families navigate trauma, attachment, behavioral health challenges, and the transitions that can come with foster care. Working across office, community, and telehealth settings, the Therapist partners closely with families and a multidisciplinary team to support healing, stability, and positive long-term outcomes.

Success In This Role Looks Like:

Provide individual, family, and caregiver counseling using trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate approaches, including play-based interventions when appropriate.Complete clinical assessments and develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that reflect each client's needs and goals.Provide crisis intervention and flexible clinical support while maintaining continuity of care through placement changes, reunification, and other family transitions.Collaborate with TFC staff, foster and biological families, schools, medical providers, courts, and community partners to coordinate care and support positive outcomes.Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including treatment summaries, clinical reports, billing and Medicaid documentation, and other required records.What You Bring To The Team:

A trauma-informed, compassionate approach to working with children, adolescents, families, and caregivers.Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and therapeutic skills.The ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and ethical standards.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with diverse families and community partners.The ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, geographic service areas, and scheduling needs while remaining flexible and responsive to client needs.Strong clinical judgment and the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches based on developmental level, family circumstances, and individual needs.Comfort providing services in a variety of settings, including community-based and virtual environmentsRequirements for Consideration:

Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution. Current and unrestricted Virginia license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families impacted by trauma. Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential or specialized training and experience in play therapy preferred. Bilingual Spanish-speaking abilities preferred. Flexible schedule required, including some evening and weekend hours based on client and family needs. This position is expected to travel regularly between the Danville and Lynchburg TFC service areas.Valid driver's license and ability to meet HumanKind's driving requirements.
