Overview

Senior Construction Project Manager leads EPC, Design-Build, and renewable energy construction projects (solar PV, BESS) from development to commissioning within Ameresco's West region. You'll direct multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships, and ensure safety, quality, and performance guarantees. This role sits at the center of delivering decarbonization projects for public and institutional clients in a hybrid setup. You'll influence project outcomes through thorough planning, risk management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead full lifecycle management of EPC and Design-Build projects from scope development to commissioning and M&V.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, risk profiles, and performance metrics to ensure profitability and contractual compliance.
  • Oversee subcontractor/vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Directly manage vendors/subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery within budget.
  • Update schedules, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding tasks.
  • Mentor Assistant PMs, construction managers, and project managers.
  • Serve as primary client contact for public, institutional, and commercial sectors; facilitate meetings and decisions.
  • Build long-term client relationships to support repeat business and program expansion.
  • Review design, submittals, and construction document approvals; monitor field activities for safety and adherence to specs.
  • Lead commissioning activities to ensure systems perform as designed; manage budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years of project management experience in EPC, ESCO, and/or Design Build construction
  • Experience managing complex solar, electrical, mechanical, controls, energy storage (BESS), and renewable energy projects
  • Proof of valid OSHA 30 (Construction) certification at time of application
  • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls, renewables)
  • Proficiency with Procore and MS Project (construction scheduling software)
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
