Overview

In this role you will oversee the actuarial pricing process for the Ancillary & Individual lines, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure competitive, data-driven premium rates. You will analyze claims, trends, and rate filings to support revenue optimization and product pricing decisions that align with our mission to improve healthcare access and affordability. The position offers remote work flexibility with in-office requirements in certain locations, focusing on complex pricing and forecasting challenges that shape the health care system of tomorrow. Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze actuarial pricing files for individual ancillary lines to optimize revenue and profitability
  • Perform studies on membership, pricing, utilization, and health care cost trends
  • Analyses to identify opportunities for revenue adjustments, including rate changes
  • Support execution of complex data programs to perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling
  • Analyze forecasts and trends and translate complex data for various audiences
  • Perform competitive analysis and assess impact on premiums and product proposals
  • Support development and implementation of new products
  • Support new and existing business, including interactions with state departments of insurance and other actuarial teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and update automated processes
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in an actuarial or analytic role
  • Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
  • 2+ years of corporate experience analyzing and summarizing data
  • Advanced or higher proficiency with Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Experience applying AI and large language models to solve business problems
  • Basic or higher proficiency with SAS, SQL and/or Snowflake
  • Proficiency with Excel
