Overview As a Self-Perform Estimator at Next 150 Construction, you will develop comprehensive take-offs and cost estimates to support proposals and project planning. You will collaborate with Operations and Preconstruction to serve multiple geographies, with emphasis on concrete, carpentry, and temporary services. This role blends field insight with office estimating to build accurate budgets and drive winning bids. You'll contribute to a safety- and quality-focused, people-first culture while advancing your skills through Gilbane University. This is a flexible role with limited travel that leverages your expertise to shape project outcomes and schedules.

Responsibilities- Review project specs, drawings, and site logistics to inform estimates
- Create on-screen take-offs for permanent and temporary scopes
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from material and service vendors
- Support Change Management with project operations
- Develop strategies for estimating improvements based on project results
- Build historical cost databases by project type and geography
- Prepare estimates from Concept through Construction Documents
- Produce clarifications and qualifications for proposals
- Document take-offs for deliverables
- Identify indirect costs and General Conditions in the estimate
- Apply knowledge of unit prices and material/labor components
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Generate manpower estimates aligned with take-offs
- Establish protocols to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency
Key requirements- BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management; 2-5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- Self-perform estimating background with concrete-related take-offs (foundations, flat work, slab on metal deck)
- Knowledge of Procore; strong MS Office skills
- Solid understanding of conceptual estimating and contract documents/specifications
