Project Manager - DAS & Small Cell

Overview

In this role, you lead DAS, small cell, and in-building wireless projects from kickoff to closeout, guiding cross-functional teams to meet customer, carrier, and company objectives. You drive schedules, budgets, quality, and safety while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. You will coordinate engineering, permitting, procurement, and installation, delivering successful turnovers and documented results. This position offers impact at scale across diverse sites and carriers, with a focus on reliable, compliant wireless infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead DAS, small cell, public safety, and in-building wireless projects from kickoff to closeout
  • Provide leadership to engineering, field operations, construction and subcontractor teams
  • Align project objectives with customer requirements, carrier standards, and company goals
  • Manage project performance, quality, schedule, and financials
  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and critical path
  • Coordinate engineering, permitting, procurement, staging, installation, commissioning and closeout
  • Manage labor, materials, RF equipment, test equipment, subcontractors, and customer deliverables
  • Monitor progress and resolve schedule or budget issues
  • Ensure commissioning, acceptance testing, and customer turnover
  • Serve as primary contact for customers, carriers, OEMs, and stakeholders
  • Conduct regular status meetings and executive updates
  • Manage customer expectations and drive issue resolution
  • Build long-term customer relationships through responsive communication
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, labor utilization, procurement, and profitability
  • Review costs, change orders, PO, invoices, and revenue projections
  • Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions
  • Prepare accurate project reporting and documentation
  • Coordinate with RF engineers, design teams, construction managers, commissioning technicians, and OEM partners
  • Review DAS designs, equipment submittals, BOMs, and installation standards
  • Ensure compliance with carrier requirements, OEM specs, codes, and customer standards
  • Oversee testing documentation, closeout packages, and final acceptance
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensure Qypsys quality standards
  • Promote safety culture and enforce OSHA policies
  • Conduct project reviews for continuous improvement
  • Maintain schedules, documentation, and reporting
  • Prepare executive updates, financial forecasts, and customer reports
  • Use Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Planner, Excel, and ERP/PM systems to track performance
  • Coordinate communication across engineering, field ops, customers, vendors, and leadership
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, Business, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience in telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, or low-voltage construction
  • Experience managing DAS, small cell, or in-building wireless projects
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams
  • Strong scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management skills
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Planner, or similar PM software
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required
  • PMP certification (preferred)
  • Experience with major wireless carriers and OEM platforms (preferred)
  • Experience with Public Safety DAS and NFPA/IFC compliance (preferred)
  • RF testing, PIM testing, fiber optics, and structured cabling familiarity (preferred)
  • Knowledge of permitting, AHJ coordination, and closeout documentation (preferred)
