Overview In this role, you lead complex rail infrastructure programs in the New Jersey-New York region, driving multi-disciplinary design and construction efforts for public agencies. You will work with senior agency staff, clients, and partners to deliver safe, on-time projects while shaping procurement, budget, and schedule strategies. You'll mentor teams, grow client relationships, and advance high-performance collaboration across projects. Responsibilities- Lead CD, PE, FD & Construction Management phases of rail infrastructure projects
- Identify and pursue future opportunities and support business development in NJ/NY transport markets
- Foster high-performance teams and encourage independent, creative problem solving
- Mentor Northeast Transportation staff and support career development
- Plan and review production of drawings, specifications, investigations, and concept development
- Coordinate with diverse disciplines to ensure project execution aligns with scope, budget, and schedule
- Oversee quality control reviews and maintain design and documentation standards
- Serve as client account leader, manage client engagement plans and monitor satisfaction
Key requirements- 15+ years of relevant infrastructure/transit experience managing rail or transit projects
- 10+ years managing multi-disciplinary project teams and engineering proposals
- Construction Management and/or Resident Engineering experience with NJ Transit/Amtrak or equivalent public agencies
- Strong knowledge of NJ Transit and Amtrak project delivery processes
- Experience with public involvement and transportation planning
- Excellent emotional intelligence and resilience
- Strong technical writing for proposals, reports, and specifications
- Experience in growing and managing client relationships
- Established relationships with 3-5 NJ Transit/Amtrak project managers
- Rail infrastructure project planning, design and construction management experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Urban Planning
- Current NJ PE license (preferred) and NY PE license (preferred) or ability to obtain; NJ PP license or AICP certification also noted
