Overview As a Senior Leader in Stantec's Building Specialty Services, you drive technical excellence and business growth in building envelope solutions. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams across design, review, field testing, and project delivery for rehabilitation and new construction. You influence strategy, mentor staff, and advance building science thinking within the US West region. This role combines hands-on field work with high-level client leadership to deliver durable, high-performance envelope systems. You'll be visible in the industry through thought leadership and proposals that shape the practice.

Responsibilities- Define scope and criteria for complex envelope services and lead project design efforts
- Review design documents, shop drawings, and third-party submittals for water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, thermal performance, and movement
- Manage preparation of contract drawings and specifications with project teams
- Perform field reviews on new and rehabilitated projects to verify construction aligns with mock-ups and design documents
- Prepare site visit reports and track deficiencies with action lists
- Conduct field testing of envelope elements and report results for compliance with performance standards
- Solve unusual project problems with innovative approaches and existing criteria
- Interface with architects, general contractors, and sub-trades; provide expert design and construction method advice
- Perform forensic analysis of envelope failures and present findings to stakeholders
- Lead field work for existing building assessments and envelope evaluation reports
- Lead and manage project teams (1-5 staff) focused on on-time, on-budget delivery
- Serve as project management and technical lead; conduct building science research and mentor staff
- Deliver technical presentations and thought leadership internally and externally
- Review and write proposals for new work; lead business development with internal and external clients
- Mentor and train entry-level staff in technical and non-technical skills
Key requirements- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of Bluebeam, CAD and/or Revit
- Project management experience for concurrent projects with budgets >$200,000
- Practical knowledge of energy code, rain screen principles, air barriers and thermal performance
- Ability to work effectively in a team with a strong customer service orientation
- Regular regional travel; active construction site work
- Valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Registered Professional preferred
- Minimum 10 years of building envelope assessment, detailing, testing or construction experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Science with Building Science background
