Overview In this role, you drive philanthropy strategy within a collaborative, matrixed fundraising model to secure major gifts for Beth Israel Lahey Health. You will lead a major gifts portfolio, guide regional philanthropy efforts, and contribute to multi-year campaigns in alignment with organizational priorities. You collaborate across philanthropy teams and with leadership to grow donations, volunteer engagement, and donor stewardship. Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of 30-50 donors/prospects with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to meet fundraising targets
- Develop and execute annual and multi-year fundraising strategies with Market VP
- Contribute to planning multi-year campaigns supporting programmatic endowment
- Support donor strategy development during prospect/donor visits
- Collaborate with Donor Relations and Events to design cultivation and recognition experiences
- Engage Prospect Development to identify and qualify prospects and build portfolios
- Coordinate activities with philanthropy colleagues across BILH and ensure alignment by direct reports
- Foster engagement and leadership among volunteers, physicians, and governing boards to grow giving
- Define fundraising projects or priority clinical areas and build pipelines with Prospect Development
- Prepare contact reports and maintain donor activity in the fundraising CRM
- Attend meetings/events related to cultivation and fundraising
- Participate in VP senior leadership team meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 10-12 years of philanthropy experience
- Proven track record in securing six- and seven-figure gifts
- Experience in healthcare fundraising is a plus but not required
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship-building abilities
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Ability to work across levels, including executives, staff, physicians, trustees, and donors
