Overview In this role you will support pre-construction and estimating teams to develop bids and proposals, then lead a project from award to completion on water infrastructure sites. Based in Knoxville, you will travel to project locations and manage startup, procurement, subcontracting, and on-site execution to meet budget and schedule. You will coordinate with clients, AE representatives, and subcontractors to deliver value and ensure project success.
Responsibilities- Support pre-construction and estimating efforts to prepare project estimates and proposals
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to refine construction means, methods, and subcontractor coordination
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier scope, and review quotes for coverage and exclusions
- Conduct client assessments to define scope and resource needs
- Prepare comprehensive project estimates, reviewing specs, drawings, takeoffs, and contracting requirements
- Assist in technical proposal and bid schedule development
- Manage project startup operations including budget, staffing, equipment, and material procurement
- Oversee construction to align with design, budget, and schedule; interact with client, AE, and other contractors
- Set project objectives and performance standards within policy framework
- Monitor progress with on-site supervision to ensure schedule and budget adherence; take corrective actions
- Represent the company in project meetings and contribute to labor negotiations and strategy
- Manage contracts financially to protect company interests and maintain client relations
- Plan and oversee on-site functions: scheduling, engineering, material control, and day-to-day administrative direction
- Supervise craft personnel and contractors as per contract
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting drawings and advising construction methods and equipment; initiate change orders
- Ensure productivity, material/equipment efficiency, and contractual performance
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by leadership
