Overview In this role you lead field operations on large construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will manage trade contractors, guide a project team, and drive site efficiency while aligning with Gilbane's values and client objectives. You'll work closely with owners, architects, and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain progress. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused opportunity to shape major education, healthcare, and commercial builds at a top ENR contractor.

Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate trade contractors to meet the project schedule and quality standards
- Supervise and develop the project team on site
- Manage general conditions budget and Next 150/Site Services
- Develop, document, and communicate field work plans and changes
- Lead site walks with owner, architect/engineer, and lenders to show progress
- Maintain contract document understanding to anticipate problems and coordinate trades
- Ensure permits and inspections with AHJ as needed
- Act as primary safety representative and foster a safety culture across trades
- Develop safety strategies and oversee safety compliance
- Lead contractor meetings and manage daily reports for accuracy
- Communicate schedule status and changes to project team and subcontractors
- Coordinate jobsite logistics and manage Next 150/Site Services resources
- Develop and oversee the Quality in Construction plan with Operations Excellence
- Resolve jurisdictional disputes with BU leadership
- Establish credibility with project partners and maintain fair environment
- Mentor junior team members and lead technical trainings
- Participate in business development, preconstruction scopes, and buyout
- Administer Time and Materials tracking
- Lead or delegate stretch/flex and daily huddles
- Lead ground-up construction with foundation experience
- Engage with the local community and align with sales strategies to enhance profitability
- Support career development and coaching of team members
- Foster an inclusive work environment and translate strategy into team goals
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 15+ years of experience on large-scale projects ($50M-$100M+) in education/healthcare/public/commercial sectors or multiple lead superintendent roles
- OSHA 30-hour certified
- STS-C Certification
- First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to participate in sales processes and lead a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry software
- Construction-document literacy and knowledge of all construction phases
- Familiarity with Pull Planning and cost control across divisions
- Experience supervising large project teams and knowledge of labor relations
