Overview In this role you will lead the drafting and negotiation of vendor contracts across the business, balancing legal and practical considerations. You will collaborate with BAM departments to ensure timely reviews and leverage AI-enabled tools to boost efficiency while keeping attorney oversight. You will handle various legal inquiries and contribute to the broader legal function, including document retention. This position offers a chance to shape how BAM engages vendors in a fast-paced, highly regulated investment environment.
Responsibilities- Lead drafting and negotiation of vendor contracts across multiple categories (research, data, software licensing, telecommunications, consulting, hardware, real estate, recruiting, etc.)
- Collaborate with BAM departments to ensure timely and efficient contract reviews
- Utilize AI-enabled legal and contract-management tools to enhance drafting, review, negotiation, and workflow efficiency with attorney oversight
- Review and respond to legal inquiries from business units
- Contribute to broader legal team functions and learn new skills
- Assist with document retention and organization obligations
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment with prudent issue escalation
Key requirements- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and transactional agreement experience
- Practical experience representing financial services clients preferred
- Strong desire to collaborate with the legal team and other groups
- High professionalism in dealings with staff, vendors, clients, and regulators
