Operations and Training Technical Support Specialist

Overview

In this role you will support ORP's waste treatment and site operations by overseeing procedure development, training, and contractor activities at Hanford. You will work with cross functional teams to ensure safe, compliant operations and effective documentation. The position sits within a government focused engagement and offers opportunities to impact environmental remediation and project delivery. You will engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to program oversight and reporting to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee operation procedure development programs (SOPs, Alarm, Abnormal, and Emergency procedures)
  • Coordinate contractor activities to ensure procedures, staffing, qualifications, and systems support operations
  • Liaise with ORP engineering, regulatory, and support staff to address issues
  • Prepare assessment and technical reports; contribute to IPTs and project reviews
  • Conduct plant walkdowns to verify equipment care and operability; identify barriers and opportunities for improvement
  • Document program reviews and identify compliance deviations and improvement opportunities
  • Support deliverables per COD Director directions and participate in weekly coordination meetings
  • Ensure adherence to ORP management system procedures and project milestones
Key requirements
  • Experience interfacing with client senior management
  • Knowledge of program and project management practices, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience supporting programs and projects with analysis, tracking, monitoring, assessment, and coordination
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and fundamentals
  • Significant experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools
  • Proficiency in additional required tools and training (as listed: HGET, WTP site access, CMMS, Smart Plant Foundation/Operations, LO/TO, Radworker)
  • DOE Orders/Standards familiarity: DOE O 422.1, O 433.1B, O 426.2
  • Nuclear facility operations/maintenance/training experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Team collaboration and IPT participation
  • Detail-oriented with rigorous compliance mindset
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Smart Plant Foundation and Smart Plant for Operations
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
