Job description

Overview

In this role you will provide professional architectural support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance of federal facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other commands. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on programming, space planning, sustainable design, and code compliance to shape facilities ranging from housing to command-and-control. You'll review third-party designs, advise on technical feasibility, and help deliver projects from MILCON to renovations. This position offers hands-on impact within NAVFAC SE's mission and a path to lead sustainable, compliant facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural support for planning, design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of federal facilities
  • Support programming, space planning, concept development, sustainable design, and code compliance
  • Review third-party designs, drawings, specs, and cost estimates with technical recommendations
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support shore facilities including housing, medical, training, industrial, hangar, administrative, and C2 facilities
  • Prepare analyses and recommendations and present study results
Key requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional, code-compliant architectural design experience for new construction, including renovation design
  • At least one (1) year of experience on facilities projects for a Federal agency
  • Comprehensive knowledge of architectural programming, space planning, concept design, sustainable design, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and code compliance
  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy guide specs, IBC, Life Safety Code, and applicable industry standards
  • Experience with Autodesk software, Microsoft Office, and architectural design and analysis software
