Overview

In this role you will lead Hitachi Rail's TCUP construction activities in San Francisco, guiding a multi-disciplinary team through planning, execution, and handover of a major rail upgrade. You will align with engineering and commissioning stakeholders to meet timelines, budget, and safety standards, while applying industry best practices in electrical surveys and installation. The position offers a chance to shape large-scale infrastructure delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the construction team across all project phases ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Attend weekly customer meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineering, contractors and stakeholders to develop and implement project plans
  • Monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and implement mitigation measures
  • Manage resources (labor, materials, equipment) to optimize productivity and costs
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and safety standards
  • Oversee deployment, commissioning handover, and start-up activities with the Commissioning Manager
  • Review project activity plans to identify milestones and priorities
  • Oversee subcontractor quality in coordination with the quality manager
  • Maintain effective communication and provide updates and feedback to stakeholders
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of construction management experience delivering large-scale infrastructure
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies and best practices
  • Experience with signalling, telecom, and power supply systems is highly desirable
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for diverse teams
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or CCM are a plus
  • Relevant knowledge to ensure high-quality installation and documentation meeting customer expectations
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
