Senior Resident Engineer

As a Senior Resident Engineer at Arcadis, you ensure construction work aligns with contract documents, safety standards, and project controls. You lead progress reviews, documentation, and change-order analysis while coordinating with clients and contractors. You'll oversee materials testing and field operations, guiding teams to deliver high-quality highway projects. • Review progress for contract compliance and document control
• Monitor materials and methods and inspect finished work
• Ensure accurate payments and project documentation per policies
• Proactively identify and prepare change orders to resolve conflicts
• Oversee safety, CAL OSHA compliance and staff directions
• Coordinate and lead construction meetings with client and contractor
• Oversee materials testing and review daily inspection reports
• Lead or participate in resolution of disputes and daily project issues
• Exercise ethical decision-making regarding funds and resources
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

• 10+ years of directly relevant experience (Resident Engineer or similar)
• 5+ years as a Resident Engineer on Caltrans highway improvement projects of comparable size/complexity
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in California

• Effective oral and written communication
• Leadership and team coordination
• Dispute resolution and problem-solving
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents
• Knowledge of Caltrans codes, standards, and materials
• Experience with construction management and field operations
