Overview In this role you lead advanced ART lab operations within an IVF setting, serving as the go-to expert for complex embryology tasks and problem-solving. You collaborate with clinicians, maintain up-to-date knowledge of technologies, and support policy, quality, and training initiatives. You will drive high standards in embryology practice and patient care, contributing to the lab's scientific and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Perform semen preparation, oocyte identification, conventional insemination, embryo culture, vitrification, warming and embryo transfer in IVF services
- Independently execute specialized embryology cases such as ICSI, embryo biopsy, oocyte vitrification, and surgical sperm retrieval
- Consult with clinicians on technical issues, patient care management, and test interpretation
- Serve as in-house expert in embryology; stay current with the field through literature and seminars
- Assist in policy and procedure development and implementation
- Participate in lab quality management activities and equipment validation
- Support daily laboratory maintenance and training of embryologists, associates, and trainees
- Ensure patient information is accurately documented in the EMR
- Provide feedback to leadership on process improvements to improve workflow efficiency
Key requirements- Minimum five (5) years of ART experience including lab technologies, tissue culture, semen prep, egg retrieval, assessment, transfer, and cryopreservation/micromanipulation; ICSI experience
- Minimum one (1) year of independent embryo biopsy experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology or related science field, or four (4) years of related experience
