Senior Project Architect - Healthcare

Overview

In this role you will lead multidisciplinary architectural projects at HDR, shaping design and documentation for complex healthcare facilities. You'll coordinate internal teams, manage client interactions, and ensure code compliance and QC across phases. You'll drive project success through clear communication, scheduling, and integration of addenda and RFIs. Your work supports HDR's mission to deliver meaningful, sustainable environments while fostering an inclusive, employee-owned culture. Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team and perform layout and detailing on architectural projects
  • Coordinate work of a multidiscipline team through multiple project phases
  • Lead owner/client and internal meetings; participate in agency reviews for code compliance
  • Conduct site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines
  • Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule
  • Review architectural documents for interdisciplinary conflicts
  • Perform QA/QC and technical reviews
  • Write and edit architectural specifications
  • Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders; incorporate changes into documents
  • Lead projects in a dual management role as needed; provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience preparing and laying out architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of codes and planning skills
