Overview

As Construction Controller within CLA's CAAS you will lead internal controls, budgeting, and financial planning for client engagements. You'll coordinate finance activities, prepare statements and forecasts, and monitor KPI and fund management to support strategic objectives. You will work with management and client teams to optimize financial performance and risk mitigation. This role offers impact through shaping accounting processes and enhancing client and stakeholder reporting. You will join a collaborative, growth-focused environment that values cross-functional teamwork and clear financial guidance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop internal control policies and procedures for budgeting, cash management, and accounting
  • Coordinate and direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investments for all or part of an organization
  • Prepare financial statements, activity reports, forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reports
  • Evaluate funding needs and investment of surpluses and make recommendations
  • Monitor KPIs and the performance of accounting staff, implementing improvements
  • Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies
  • Communicate with boards, bankers, and investors; prepare for board presentations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • 7 years of relevant accounting/financial experience; construction industry/back-office accounting highly preferred
  • CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Strong Excel, Word, Outlook skills
  • Frequent local travel to client sites; occasional non-local travel possible
  • Strong organizational skills and goal orientation
  • Ability to handle pressure professionally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • FASB/SFAS knowledge or equivalent accounting framework
  • Accounting software proficiency; QuickBooks preferred
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook proficiency
