Overview As a Risk Control Consultant, you will support underwriting by assessing hazards and control strategies for large, complex accounts. You'll travel to client sites, build trusted cross functional relationships, and deliver data driven risk insights. Your work helps shape a profitable book while improving client safety and operations. This role offers exposure to specialized risk domains and opportunities to lead higher impact projects within a collaborative team at Travelers.

Responsibilities- Maintain field presence with 20-50% onsite time, including long-distance travel as needed
- Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow profitable business
- Build relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers
- Conduct risk assessments for high complexity, multi location, and large exposure accounts
- Write detailed risk assessment reports with actionable recommendations
- Analyze loss data and customer readiness to offer risk control solutions
- Identify uncontrolled exposures and drive corrective actions
- Stay current on technical topics, regulatory changes, and emerging issues
- Serve as subject matter expert in specialty areas to support Level of Expertise consults
- Deliver a high quality customer experience and participate in enterprise projects
Key requirements- Seven years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related field
- Valid driver's license
- Must have or be able to obtain state specific certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS)
- Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and strong business sense
- Technical aptitude and detail orientation
