Overview In this long-term contract, you will support daily HR operations for a nonprofit in San Diego, focused on accurate employee records, onboarding and offboarding, and helping the team stay aligned with compliance expectations. You will work closely with the HR function to ensure data integrity in the HRIS and respond to routine inquiries. The role emphasizes sensitive information handling and reliable administrative support to keep HR processes running smoothly. This is a hands-on position that offers exposure to audits, verifications, and background checks within a mission-driven context.
Responsibilities- Coordinate onboarding for new hires and ensure a smooth start to employment
- Assist with rehiring and processing returning employees
- Manage offboarding tasks and update records
- Maintain and organize employee files and ensure data accuracy
- Update HR records in the HRIS and enforce data consistency
- Support compliance efforts and assist with internal audit preparation
- Process employment verification requests and respond to HR inquiries
- Coordinate background screening activities and manage pre-employment steps
- Provide general administrative support to ensure day-to-day HR operations
