Overview Senior IP counsel to lead global IP strategy and protect innovative assets. You will guide cross-functional teams on IP risks, licensing, and commercialization, while managing portfolios and enforcement. This role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on filings, negotiations, and policy implementation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities- Lead development and execution of global IP strategy across patents, trademarks, and copyrights
- Advise leadership and cross-functional product/engineering teams on IP risks, licensing, and commercialization opportunities
- Oversee IP-related litigation, dispute resolution, and enforcement actions
- Manage patent and trademark filings, prosecution, and portfolio management
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements (licensing, technology transfer, NDAs, strategic partnerships, supply chain)
- Ensure compliance with international IP laws and implement internal IP policies
- Collaborate with R&D, product, and marketing to identify and protect assets
- Educate and train teammates on IP best practices and risk mitigation
Key requirements- 7+ years of IP-focused legal experience, including patent and trademark prosecution
- Experience structuring and leading IP transactions across technology areas (physical goods and software licenses)
- J.D. from an accredited law school; science or technology undergraduate degree preferred
- US Bar admission (California preferred) and US Patent Bar
- Combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred; outdoor industry experience a plus
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical abilities
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders with strategic, business-focused advice
- Excellent organizational skills; comfortable with ambiguity and fast pace
