Overview In this role you will underwrite and market excess and surplus casualty, building a profitable book while nurturing broker partnerships. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver holistic solutions that meet growth and rate objectives. You'll analyze data, adjust strategies, and represent the Munich Re brand at client and industry events. Responsibilities- Underwrite, market, quote, bind and retain an E&S casualty book aligned with profitability targets
- Operate within granted authority and escalate to leadership when needed
- Develop production strategies and business plans to drive growth and rate objectives
- Coordinate with other Munich Re units to provide holistic client solutions
- Measure portfolio progress through data analysis and industry practices for continuous improvement
- Cultivate and maintain professional wholesale broker relationships
- Represent Munich Re at client events, seminars, and meetings
- Assist in day-to-day operations and projects with potential cross-group impact
Key requirements- 5+ years of experience in insurance/reinsurance focusing on E&S casualty
- Excellent underwriting, marketing and analytical skills
- Advanced insurance certifications (e.g. CPCU) preferred
- Strong knowledge of Commercial P&C / E&S products, UW processes, and industry trends
- Proficiency with pricing models and risk evaluation tools
- Proven ability to develop and maintain wholesale broker relationships
- Tech savviness and willingness to learn new technologies
- Strategic thinking with tactical execution and strong communication skills
- Ability to present and negotiate complex broker agreements
- Effective time management and organizational skills
