Overview

Senior Scientist at FL129 will help build a first-in-category platform for small molecule drug discovery. You will work closely with both experimental and computational teams to advance DEL-based technology and translate data into actionable insights. As an early employee, you will shape the scientific direction and establish workflows that enable rapid, high-quality results. Responsibilities
  • Technology development aligned with core strategic goals and early-stage platform direction
  • Design, construction, and QC of DNA-encoded small molecule libraries with validation
  • Execute and optimize affinity-based selections against protein targets with controls and enrichment analysis
  • Deconvolute and validate screening hits, including off-DNA resynthesis and activity confirmation
  • Optimize workflows and implement best practices for platform excellence
  • Ensure rapid, accurate data turnaround to drive project milestones
  • Translate data into insights and present results to the team
Key requirements
  • Ph.D. in relevant field with 5+ years of industry or postdoctoral experience
  • End-to-end DEL screening experience from design to hit deconvolution
  • Hands-on DNA-compatible chemistry expertise (split-and-pool synthesis, building-block validation)
  • Experience with encoding/tagging strategies and LC-MS quality control
  • Experience with affinity selection formats and controls for DNA-encoded libraries
  • Experience with on-DNA and off-DNA hit validation and biochemical/biophysical assays
  • Experience managing CROs
  • Nice-to-have: cheminformatics, library enumeration, diversity analysis; droplet-based screening/microfluidics; lab automation
