Overview You will lead electric transmission line design projects for HV and EHV systems, applying industry standards to deliver reliable overhead and underground solutions. As part of a multi-person Leidos team, you'll interface with clients and cross-functional teams to plan, design, procure, and construct transmission assets. The role combines technical design work with project planning, environmental and permitting interfaces, and construction support. This is a chance to influence large-scale utility projects and advance grid infrastructure. Responsibilities- design HV/EHV overhead and underground transmission lines
- apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards in electrical design
- prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications, and material procurement/ construction documents
- develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
- interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams
- review full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles, and construction packages
- lead and supervise team members and coordinate with cross-functional groups
- travel to client sites as required
Key requirements- Bachelor in Civil Engineering
- minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission design
- experience reviewing transmission line designs with PLS-CADD, foundations, materials, plans/profiles, and construction packages
- knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE standards; construction specifications; procurement processes; schedules; and work packages
- ability to develop scopes, budgets, and proposals
- strong communication with clients and project teams
