Senior Laboratory Planner

Overview

As Senior Laboratory Planner, you will lead laboratory programming and planning for Science + Technology projects, partnering withPrincipals and project teams to deliver complex facilities. You will guide space programs, develop planning concepts, and oversee documentation and construction administration for diverse lab types. The role combines design leadership with business development and thought leadership at conferences. You will help grow the Science + Technology group and promote sustainable, high-impact lab environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead laboratory programming, planning and design for complex facilities
  • Develop space programs, planning grids, and service distribution concepts
  • Document laboratory systems and casework to create innovative labs
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, and owners, guiding documentation and construction administration
  • Lead design presentations, project meetings, and client engagements
  • Mentor junior staff and participate in recruitment and performance coaching
  • Participate in marketing, pre-positioning, proposals, and presentations
  • Drive business development activities including capture plans and proposals
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in laboratory planning and design
  • Experience with academic, research and STEM facilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven experience in programming, design, and construction of laboratory facilities
  • Understanding of code implementation and construction practices
  • Ability to manage clients, teams, and processes
  • Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, Enscape, SketchUp
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
