Overview In this role you lead a five-person actuarial team delivering external support for Personal Auto rate initiatives and new product programs. You will partner with state analytics, planning, and rollout teams to influence pricing, product development, and regulatory negotiations. The role focuses on actuarial justifications for filings, data-driven insights, and continuous process improvement to drive efficiency and accuracy. Responsibilities- Provide actuarial support for state filings related to rate changes and new initiatives
- Lead a team of actuaries/analysts
- Offer analytical insight to State Directors to inform business decisions
- Track and apply state-level actuarial requirements in filings
- Develop countrywide subject matter expertise and leverage it across the organization
- Improve processes for efficient external actuarial support
- Query data for ad-hoc requests and perform deep dives as needed
- Communicate with regulators in writing and verbally to support outcomes
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience, including supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate actuarial concepts
- Knowledge of underwriting concepts and company/agency relationships
- Advanced problem solving and analytical abilities
- Active engagement with CAS/AAA publications and meetings
