Overview As a Data Center Project Architect, you will lead the design of prototypical AWS data center facilities across the Americas, guiding architectural decisions and coordinating cross-functional teams to meet high uptime, security, and cost targets. You'll shape resilient, scalable DC designs and drive projects from concept through construction, partnering with engineers, consultants, and internal stakeholders. This role offers visibility into global infrastructure and a chance to influence how AWS scales its data center footprint.

Responsibilities- Communicate concepts and maintain project docs across pre-, during, and post-construction
- Maintain Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural elements
- Review and inform design RFPs
- Manage external design consultants through design and construction
- Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Cabling engineers
- Convey design standards to internal and external project partners
- Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
- Develop innovative cost-saving design solutions without compromising quality or reliability
- Travel for site assessments and design/construction interfacing (anticipated travel up to 25%)
Key requirements- 4+ years of project management or project lead work including RFQ/RFP processes, team selection, budget development, coordination of consultant teams, and meeting facilitation
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region
- 3+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience or 3+ years of data center engineering experience
- NCARB recognized architecture license
- 7+ years of design experience in complex technical projects
