Overview

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders across corporate functions to shape talent strategy that supports business goals. You'll lead organizational design, workforce planning, succession, and change management, using data to inform decisions and influence executives. This role sits at the center of Appian's People Team, partnering with cross-functional leaders to drive high-performing teams. You'll diagnose challenges, challenge assumptions, and deliver actionable solutions with credible execution. Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders across Business Technology, Finance, Legal, Strategy, and the People Team to develop talent strategies aligned to business priorities
  • Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership effectiveness
  • Lead organizational change initiatives, including restructures, leadership transitions, and new team design
  • Collaborate with Finance and Compensation on headcount planning, promotions, leveling, and investments
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning and help leaders identify and develop future talent
  • Use workforce data, engagement insights, and business metrics to identify trends and inform actions
  • Coach leaders through complex employee relations and leadership challenges
  • Build credibility across executive teams and influence decisions through data and sound judgment
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in HR Business Partnering, Organizational Effectiveness, Management Consulting, or related field
  • Experience supporting VP-level leaders within corporate functions (Finance, Technology, Legal, Strategy, or HR)
  • Track record in organizational design, workforce planning, or talent strategy initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills translating data into business recommendations
  • Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management
  • Bachelor's degree
