Overview

In this role, you lead design coordination for mission-critical data center projects, driving BIM-enabled workflows and cross-disciplinary collaboration. You guide complex design integration to deliver reliable, scalable, and energy-efficient facilities. You will work with design partners, operators, and construction teams to bridge design intent with operation, while upholding industry standards. Responsibilities
  • Lead coordination among data center design partners (architects, MEP, structural, telecom, and specialty designers)
  • Chair design coordination meetings and workshops to resolve cross-disciplinary issues
  • Review deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with data center standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, TIA-942, BICSI)
  • Manage design partner schedules and milestones throughout all project phases
  • Facilitate cross-disciplinary communication with stakeholders, operators, and end users
  • Manage design scope changes and document their impact on critical systems
  • Coordinate interfaces between design, construction, commissioning, and facility operations
  • Lead BIM execution plans and federated models; drive clash detection and model quality control
  • Produce advanced BIM deliverables and maintain BIM standards and best practices
  • Manage RFI lifecycle, ensure timely, technically sound responses that preserve system integrity
  • Lead design quality assurance and constructability reviews to protect system reliability
  • Communicate design status and technical findings to executives and clients
  • Mentor junior coordinators and support professional development
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field
  • 7-10 years of progressive design coordination and BIM management experience
  • At least 5 years supporting mission-critical or data center projects
  • Experience leading design coordination on large-scale projects with budgets >$50M
  • Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure and operational requirements
  • Advanced proficiency with BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, Procore or similar) and 3D coordination
  • Proven BIM coordination leadership, clash detection, and model-based construction planning
  • Strong understanding of data center documentation, installation methods, and commissioning sequencing
  • Experience managing complex design RFIs and technical documentation for critical facilities
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-influence abilities
